Joshua C. Davis,

Attorney at Law

A lawyer, Josh Davis, stands confidently in front of a law bookshelf, wearing a suit and tie.

Behind Every Gavel Lies a Story of Dedication

Josh is a fifth-generation Oklahoman with Garfield County roots that stretch back to the opening of the Cherokee Strip.

"If you always prepare for the worst, then all of your surprises will be pleasant ones."

By preparing for what could happen, you put your client in the best position to be ready for what does happen. As a result, no one will work harder or smarter for you.

Education

Josh graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 2002 with a Bachelor's in Letters and a Minor in History. During his undergraduate work, he attended King's College in London in 2001. In 2005, Josh graduated from the University of Oklahoma College of Law. In 2007, Josh was a guest lecturer on the American Legal System at the University of Wales - Swansea.

Experience

While in law school, Josh interned for the prestigious Oklahoma City law firm of Riggs, Abney, Neal, Turpen, Orbison, and Lewis. As an intern, he focused on criminal defense and civil litigation. After graduating from law school in 2005, Josh served as an Assistant District Attorney in Enid for nearly five years, where he prosecuted criminal cases ranging from simple drug possession and DUI to serious felonies like Kidnapping, Drug Trafficking, Drive-by Shootings, and Robbery. In addition, Josh represented the District Attorney in the Garfield County Sobriety Court, a diversionary program designed as an alternative to incarceration. As an Assistant District Attorney, Josh gained the invaluable knowledge and experience that he now uses in the defense of clients under investigation and those charged with criminal offenses.

In 2011, Josh left the Garfield County District Attorney's office for private practice as a partner at Martin, Cameron, and Davis. His practice areas included Criminal Defense, Personal Injury and Automobile Accidents, Family Law and Child Custody, and Guardianship and Elder law, including Estate Planning and Probate. Josh was also appointed by Governor Brad Henry in December 2011 to the Oklahoma Employment Security Commission's Board of Review.

In March of 2018, Josh joined Oklahoma's oldest law firm, Mitchell & DeClerck, in an Of Counsel capacity, where he continues his successful multi-county practice. Josh believes that the key to effective representation begins with preparation.

Josh is a firm believer in being active in his community.
